Terrell Anderson - President and CEO
Terrell Anderson is a proven business builder in technology-driven
media, Internet, software, and print publishing enterprises and
has a strong blend of strategic insight, execution capabilities,
and deal-making skills. His career spans growing companies
organically, through strategic acquisitions, and by restructuring
them to provide a foundation for growth. Over the past 16 years,
Mr. Anderson has successfully grown six companies, contributing
more than $1 billion in increased value.
Mr. Anderson recently served as the senior operating executive at
LeadClick Media, an online lead generation firm owned by First
Advantage, where he completely reorganized the company and
successfully reversed two years of declining revenue. Previously,
Mr. Anderson was the President of a consumer software group at
Vivendi Universal where he negotiated numerous high-profile brand
partnerships that included Disney, Mattel, and Berlitz. Earlier,
he was the Senior Vice President of Business Development and Strategy
at PictureWorks, a digital imaging software company, where he
increased the company's valuation 550% in two years leading to a
successful liquidity event.
Mr. Anderson serves as an advisor to private equity firms, is on
the board of several early stage and growth companies, and is
board member of Center Point, a health and social rehabilitation
service. Mr. Anderson earned a B.A. in Communications from Houghton
College and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
Martin Fletcher Psy.D. - Chief Creative Officer
As the creative mind behind the Skatekids concept, Dr.
Martin Fletcher heads the product development team where he applies his
knowledge in the fields of cognitive psychology, learning theory and
intelligence to education software. He has worked with renowned
cognitive psychologist, J.P. Das, Ph.D., the co-developer of the PASS
Theory of Intelligence and co-author of the Cognitive Assessment System.
Together they have collaborated on research, scholarly writing, and
program development all designed to improve the learning potential of
today's youth.
Dr. Marty, as he is fondly known as around the office, has consulted in
many schools treating countless children with learning and attention
problems. He worked not only to improve their academic success, but also
enhanced their social well-being and personal self esteem. Because he
has worked one on one with many struggling children, Dr. Marty
recognizes the importance of the child completely- that school
achievements are not only measured by good grades and test scores, but
by the child's motivation and confidence to continue learning.
Dr. Marty has earned three advanced degrees in clinical psychology and
education. He received a B.A. in General Studies from the University of
Michigan, and later obtained his Psy.D. from the Center for Humanistic
Studies in Detroit, MI. While in Detroit, Dr. Marty studied with Clark
Moustakas, Ph.D., one of the pioneers in the development of humanistic
psychology and play therapy.
Alan Aldworth - Board Member
Mr. Alan Aldworth most recently served as Chairman
and CEO of Quantum Learning Technologies. He continues
to serve the company as a Board Member and Special
Advisor for the school market.
He has a wealth of experience
managing publishing and education businesses. He joined
ProQuest in 2000 when it was known as Bell+Howell and
transformed the manufacturing conglomerate into an
innovative information and education company. Before
ProQuest he spent 18 years at Tribune Company in various
management positions and founded the education division,
which grew to $375 million. He also served as chief of
finance and planning for the newspaper division. During
his career he has managed the launch and development
of some of the most innovate education solutions of
modern times including Everyday Mathematics, Voyager
and numerous online programs.
A native of Illinois, Aldworth received a bachelor's
degree in accounting from DePaul University in 1978
and a master's degree in management from Northwestern
University in 1989. He is a certified public accountant.
He serves on the boards of The Michigan Theater Foundation,
The Emerson School, and the Ypsilanti Community Band. He is
also a member of advisory boards at Eastern Michigan
University and the Mackinac Center for Public Policy.
Blair Garrou - Board Director
Mr. Garrou is Managing Director of DFJ Mercury, a Texas-based
seed and early stage venture capital fund and a partner in the
DFJ Global Network of venture funds. Prior to DFJ Mercury,
Mr. Garrou led the sale of Houston-based software firm
Intermat to IHS, Inc. He joined Intermat as its CEO after
leading the leveraged buyout which took the company private
from MRO Software in January 2003.
Marc Weiser - Board Director
Mr. Weiser founded RPM Ventures, a seed and
early stage venture fund with $60 million under
management, in 2000. He was a founder and the head
of development of QuantumShift, a venture-backed
telecommunications services firm. Prior to that,
Mr Weiser was one of the first employees of MessageMedia,
a pioneer in the e-commerce space, which he later helped take
public in 1996.
